Well first Friday of our build season and my a lot has happened. To day was no exception. We have gotten the climber to a stage where we now are testing it for strength to see if the motors are capable of supporting that much weight. To do this we have rigged up a system ropes and pulleys hanging from the sealing. For testing purposes we barrowed 120 pounds of weights from the weight room to simulate the weight of our robot and have been lifting it with various results. Currently we can lift the 40 pound weight. But the problem we are running into is that shaft we are using will bend under the weight and cause the chain to fall off dropping the weight. We are currently rebuilding the prototype to stand the higher stresses. The gear team is continuing on working now on how to make sure we place the gear in the right spot every time.
